Set within a conservation area in South Benfleet, this was the biggest budget Greene King project we have worked on. This small but charming pub with a capacity of only 107 inside the grade 2 listed building needed a full refurbishment to bring it up to scratch. Outside we created an undercover walkway which leads to a huge new pergola and decked area, which allows a further 194 external covers. Before we started work on the new bathroom block, outdoor bar and pizza kitchen in this new area, archaeologists had to be brought in to check the area for unexploded WW2 bombs due to its location under the former flight path of the RAF. Once the area was confirmed safe, we gave it a full Pub & Social refit with festoon lighting, faux planting and comfortable seating to welcome guests.
